This expansive event centre is a hub of activity for the Tauranga community and hosts a diverse calendar of events each year. It is the largest stand-alone function space within Mercury Arena, spanning over 4500m2.
Six full-size indoor courts with timber sprung floors and electronic scoreboards provide a high-quality experience for a range of sporting codes. The courts are marked for netball, basketball, volleyball and badminton, but can be used by teams of all kinds. Two control rooms, offices and dedicated ticketing booths can also be utilised for larger tournaments and events.
The venue features a state-of-the-art roof constructed using a special clear span truss system, meaning that no beams or poles interfere with the event space. Large loading bay doors and free, easy-access parking make this venue ideal for exhibitions and other events where significant pack-in is required. Carpet tiles are also available to complete the fit-out of the space for a more luxury feel.
The TECT Auditorium is a vast space with endless potential. Built-in dividers can split the event centre into two smaller spaces housing three courts each, with individual court hire available upon request.
